Mr J Spratt asked the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister what discussions have taken place with the UK Government about funding for the devolution of policing and justice.

Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister:

We met with the Secretary of State on 18 November 2008 to discuss a process for engaging on budget issues in relation to the devolution of policing and justice matters. We also met with the Secretary of State and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury in London on 17 December 2008 and met the Secretary of State again on 4 February.
