Mr J Spratt asked the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to detail the average waiting time for patients to have heart surgery following assessment.

Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety: The average waiting time for heart surgery¹ at 30^th June 2009, the latest quarter for which official data are available, was 48.29 days.

¹ This relates to all patients waiting for inpatient admission within the Cardiac Surgery specialty.
