Traffic lights problem must be resolved as a matter of urgency: Spratt
South Belfast DUP MLA Jimmy Spratt has questioned the Minister for Regional Development over what action his Department intend to take to ensure traffic lights at
Commenting, Mr Spratt said:
‘Obviously when I heard that Taggart Homes Ltd. had gone into administration I immediately wondered what impact this would have on the ongoing delay in the switching on of lights at the Primrose Hill/Saintfield Road junction. Therefore, I submitted an Assembly Question to the Minister asking what impact this may have.
In the Minister’s response he has outlined that following legal advice Roads Service has served notice on both Taggart Homes Cairnshill Ltd. and their Surety advising them of their legal obligations regarding the development. Furthermore, the Minister has outlined in his response to my question that without a satisfactory response from those parties within 28 days, Roads Service will complete the outstanding work.
This delay has been totally unacceptable and a great inconvenience to those in the area. Obviously we now have some light at the end of the tunnel and I will continue to press the Minister on this issue to ensure a swift resolution.’
